The big reveal happened Sunday afternoon after we finished painting the ceiling and walls. Thomas worked diligently at removing a TON of pesky carpet staples and nails. We think the upstairs living room was last remodeled in the 70s or 80s and not touched until this weekend. The carpet, light fixtures, air vent covers, wall color and cast iron railings scream OUTDATED! We pulled up the carpet in sections and then proceeded to clean up the mat underneath which crumble to the touch. It was a ton of fun... NOT! But it was fun to do the project together from start to finish. And our hard work paid off in a big way.

All Weekend Paint Project
We started our first major interior project this weekend! We spent two days painting the ceiling over the living and dining rooms and the walls in each space. It's technically one room but it's very big (as our sore muscles soon discovered!).
We decided to skip the accent wall on the far end in the dining room section until we know what color we want it to be, so the entire space is one color for now. A fresh coat of paint gives the space new life and energy it was lacking before. And now we are one step closer to furnishing and decorating the space!

Colors: Ceiling (standard white), Walls (Charcoal Heather by Olympic Paint)
